Art Deco 1920s Richard Hudnut Deauville Pendant Powder & Rouge Compact Vanity Case

On offer is this 1920's Richard Hudnut "Deauville" pendant vanity case powder compact. The case is made of white metal and the base has machine turned wavy line pattern. The inset lid has green and cream champleve' enamel silhouette design and the finger ring is also enamelled in green. As the lid is opened the spring loaded mirror which also acts as the divider between the upper and lower compartments opens to the left. The mirror is marked Deauville Richard Hudnut Made in USA. In the base is a powder well with some remaining powder. Under the lid is a rouge well, which also has some remnants of pressed rouge. This fine Art Deco vanity case is offered in good pre-used condition with normal age and usage marks. These Hudnut accessories are prone to damage to the cold painted enamel and this one has some small losses to the cream enamel silhouette. The chrome metal is free of tarnish and has one small ding visible only in certain lighting to the back of the case. The inside of the case is free of tarnish and the mirror has a good reflection. The compact measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter and 4 1/4 inch in length including the finger ring. Thank you for your interest.
