Description
A really characterful large pair of 19th century Chinese Fo Dogs in the Sancai taste, dating from around 1930. The pair are ornately detailed in terracotta with the three colour Sancai glaze of brown green and cream particularly associated with the Tang dynasty and its tomb figures appearing around 700. These have a really appealing style, with big googly eyes fiery manes and long beards. They are detailed with scaled bodies open mouths and long curly tails.
The pair are in really great condition with loads of style and character and really stand out in any room setting.
