Modernist Designer Gold on Silver Ring with Cylindrical Smoky Quartz

What a ring! It is unlikely I will ever see a ring like this again… This ring is gold plated on silver, holding a beautifully polished cylindrical cut natural Smoky Quartz. The Quartz is completely clear with no inclusions at all. This ring is surprisingly comfortable to wear – the band is comfortable & ring is quite well balanced. It does not feel heavy. The design of the ring protect the gemstone. This ring is stamped Sterling, & has a very unusual makers mark – it is a splodge, forming the letter M? It is distinctive, but alas not a mark I have seen before. ⭐ Size O ½ (UK / Au) Size 7.75 (Us) 55.75 (Eu) ⭐ The band are rear is 3.2mm wide ⭐ The projection (height on finger) is 15mm ⭐ This ring weighs 8.6 grams ⭐ The gemstone is 15mm long & 12mm in diameter. This vintage modernist ring was likely made in the late 1970s – mid 1980s. It has previous owners. It is in great condition with little use.
