This split ring, circa early 19th century, tests as 6-7ct and features a swirled engraving design on both sides. Split rings have been used throughout history to hold charms or other trinkets by using the split feature built into the band of the ring. This ring measures as a size D; however, it is not intended to be worn, its main purpose was to be used as part of a charm bracelet.
