The Antique Georgian Gothic Cross Mourning Ring

This French rosary ring features an engraved cross design with black enamel in an oval-shaped head, which joins to shoulders featuring raised gold bumps on each side. This ring design was used as a religious tool, like a regular rosary to count prayers. The wearer marks off each prayer by moving their finger to the next bump. This ring, circa Georgian era, is tested for 18ct. It has been stamped to the reverse with French control marks. It has slight wear to the enamel and has thinning to the band resulting from being used in prayer. It is still fully wearable, with usual marks commensurate with age.
