Description
A lovely silver cased, open-faced fusee pocket watch from the late Victorian era.
This eye-catching quality timepiece of significant proportion, is hallmarked Chester 1893 and has a silver dial with subsidiary second’s dial and blued hands. Raised Gothic style gold numerals, machine turned central Guilloché pattern, and a hand-crafted silver florally decorated garland ring.
The watch’s case has ornately hand-engraved sides and rear, finished with a gold ‘belt and buckle’ cartouche and its original lunette glass. The fusee movement has a London steel regulating indicator bar, bimetallic balance, and ruby end stone, and the case and movement serial numbers are the same, “29988.”
The watch comes securely packed with a winding key, together with instructions on how to wind and set the watch time.
