Item of The Week - Antique Carved Oak Settle

We wanted our first ‘Item of The Week’ of 2017 to be something outstanding, something that will excite and something that could bring you much enjoyment, so we are presenting to you, this stunning Antique Carved Oak Settle.

If like us, you love versatility then this might just please you, as not only is this beautiful Oak Settle a place to sit and take the weight off your feet but the seat also lifts to reveal a wonderful storage space underneath.  So say goodbye to cluttered hall spaces full of shoes, bags and other sorts and say hello to neat, tidy & organised living.

Not only is this a practical piece but it is also very visually pleasing and could truly brighten up any hall space or entrance area.  With its overall splendid detail and lion carved arm rests, you’d be forgiven for wanting to show it off. And let’s not forget to mention the mythological Green Man Carvings – said to be a symbol of Re-birth; these carvings are a mild variation of Green Man, which can often be displayed in quite intricate detail. They are set in to the back rest and the base of the seat and have diamond shaped surrounds making them prominent features of the settle.  

Made from solid Oak and with a wondeful grain, It is in very good condition and has a suberb patina. This late Victorian Settle would not look out of place in a country home, or indeed integrated within the modern home, and it can be delivered to you for a very reasonable fee.
