Description

These are very pretty antique sterling silver sugar tongs from the late 1700s. They are in lovely gift bag and would be a fantastic and very special present. They were made by Peter & Ann Bateman and they were Hallmarked in London in 1797. The Batemans were Silversmiths in the 1790s. The tongs have a beautifully elaborate design to the outside and Aa engraved at the end. The Hallmarks and Makers Mark are on the inside of the arms. The silver is shiny with a few spots of tarnish.
