Charming scoreboard for the 19th century pocket billiards game of life pool. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Dressed with a pair of small brass mounting loops, for ease of wall hanging. Wonderful pediment form with a wide crown moulding in the classical manner. Celluloid player markers to the left-hand edge sit alongside painted player ball colour labels. Sliding to the right, each ball colour reveals three inset markers - or lives - for scoring. Maker's emblem to the pediment for Thurston & Co - Catherine Street, Strand in London. Details the royal appointment granted by Queen Victoria and The Prince of Wales, Prince Albert.
