This is a superb antique nightstand. A Scottish, satinwood bedside cabinet or pot cupboard by Taylor & Sons of Edinburgh, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890. Graced with striking craftsmanship and figuring, for the finest of bedrooms. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in wonderful antique order. Satinwood stocks present beautifully, with fine grain interest. Light, warm caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish. Low back rest to the top, accentuated with a carved demi-lune motif. Cabinet drawer dressed with a brass twist latch and deep field panelling. Arranged as a pair of shelves to the interior. Maker's mark for John Taylor & Sons of Edinburgh.
