Dating from circa 1775 this is a stunning five pillar movement eight day longcase clock striking on a bell via a countwheel. The dial is unsigned, indicating probably an apprentice's work under the auspices of a master clockmaker and depicts a coastal scene. The movement is encased within a heavily ornate and impressive carved solid oak and banded mahogany case and the hood is adorned with brass capitals and side columns. The case, movement and dial have all been restored and the bell has a beautiful light tone and as with all my clocks this piece comes with a two year guarantee.

Rather than trusting a courier of any sort I unreservedly recommend collection or I can deliver regionally/nationally. All antique clocks require delicate handling and specific setting up so it is far better for a dealer to meet a client and talk them through the process, or set the clock up for them, rather than leave the client struggling at the other end on their own.
