Interior Design - Early Antique Khamseh Tribal Rug c.1870

They don't come much earlier than this Khamseh rug with a cane design against a striking central medallion and quarter spandrel design. It has a pair of peacocks within the upper spandrels.other noticeable points to mention is the central "Qashqai" type emblem to the centre, the pretty saffron yellow and green colour used throughout and the irregular motifs within the quarter spandrels not being exactly symmetrical of design to each side. Hand washed and de-dusted. all ends and sides secured. Being as old as it is there is all over low pile and subtle wear. To the top end edge there has been a wool repair, last image and not too noticeable.
