Pocket Watch Chain Coin Case Fob Antique J W Benson 1920s with Coins

Gentleman's original J W Benson pocket watch chain chunky and highly ornate coin case fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 6.9cm height (including the top ring), 4.2cm width, 1.4cm depth and weighs a heavy 39.9 grams. Chunky brass coin case (was once nickel plated but most has worn away over the years) which is beautifully adorned to the top with a slightly raised elaborate leaf design set upon an fancy engine turned background. Has three different sized spring loaded compartments to hold an old English three pence (3d), sixpence (6d) and one shilling (5d) and each is stamped as such. Complete with the three correct coins which are retrospectively dated; 1938, 1947 and 1955. The back of the case is smooth, highly polished and free from any inscriptions or initials. Clearly stamped to one side; Made In England and carries the makers initials (with their shield shaped cartouche); Jwb - J W Benson. The other side is clearly stamped; Best Nickel Plated. Large robust brass to ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with some overall wear (as mentioned above), small indentations to back, an old repair to the bail (firm and secure) and little surface scratches all commensurate with age.
