A very handsome Regency bow-front mahogany chest of drawers.
c1820.
Having six cock-beaded drawers, two short drawers to the top over four long graduating drawers, with mahogany lining and of fine dove-tail construction. All drawers open smoothly and easily. The drawer handles are decorated particularly lovely, having Prince Of Wales Feather motifs. There is also the original key which is rather a rare thing for this age of chest, fitting and working in each of the original drawer locks. All original brass escutcheons are also present.
Flanking the drawers are very decorative protruding turned column corners.
The mahogany has a lovely rich colour and beautiful flame figuring.
Standing on turned feet.
In excellent antique condition. Replacement handles, which are age and stylistically correct.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
