Description
This Regency mahogany bow front chest was made circa 1820 in the Channel Islands. Made of mahogany with chestnut drawer linings. It is of bowfront shape and fitted four graduated drawers, all with the classic Channel Islands brass ring pull handles. It has boxwood line stringing as well as the elegant cross-banded top and a shaped apron with splay bracket feet.
Channel Islands furniture usually has chestnut linings and take a little French influence in the design. The handles are of a style that again you mainly see on Channel Island furniture.

Lovely cared for condition, only with some fine surface scratches to the top that have not broken the polish. We didn't wish to clean off the original finish just to lose them.
