This is a lovely early 19th Century Regency antique mahogany secretaire bookcase offered in unbelievably good original condition.
Fantastic original colour, having a gadrooned edge under the top cornice, above a pair of astragal glazed doors with original working lock and key and brass closing strip. The doors are flanked either side by beautiful reeded side supports. There are 3 height adjustable shelves inside.
The top section sits on a chest base, with gadrooned top edge above 4 cockbeaded drawers of solid mahogany dovetailed construction, retaining original locks and handles.
The top drawer is fitted with a secretaire consisting of 9 satinwood drawers and 5 pigeon holes. The front drops down to create a writing surface and slides forward to go over your knee.
A lovely piece of furniture, ready for use.
