Striking Victorian Mahogany Antique Bookcase by Heals

This striking mid 19th Century (ca.1860) Victorian antique mahogany bookcase is by the renowned cabinet makers Heals & Son. It has of nice smaller, slim proportions with a moulded cornice above two glazed doors with key with working lock. The interior has two adjustable shelves. The lower section has a beautifully figured moulded top above two cupboard doors with moulded edges and spectacular figured panels, key and working lock. The interior has one shelf. This fine antique bookcase stands on a moulded plinth and it splits into two sections for easy removal. It comes with wonderful, genuine charm, character and the mahogany has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of antique furniture wax finishing.
