On offer is this exceptional quality 19th Century large single bedstead by Maple & Co, Tottenham Court Road, London. The all-original piece is comprised of a solid brass headboard and footboard, complimented by exquisite gadrooned rising finials to each of the four corners, leading down to the solid wrought iron side supports that attach by simply tightening the already fixed original bolts. This piece is of a magnificently aged brass patination that can be left in its original colouration or polished to an extreme brass shine. As with all pieces that came out of the London factory of Maple & Co, it is of the highest quality and it will no doubt last for a further 100-200 years! The piece is raised upon the four large original brass casters and it is also stamped ''Maple & Co'' on a large brass plaque that is fixed to the wrought iron footboard bar. It is a very heavy and very sturdy piece that takes less than 4 minutes to erect with just one person. A true statement piece by a top London furniture cabinet maker.
