Victorian Silver Mounted Claret Jug - London 1897

Victorian Silver Mounted Claret Jug. London 1897. Lovely example in superb condition. Hob nail cut body with star cut base. The silver mount is good gauge of silver and very clearly hallmarked for London 1897 by the silver smiths Charles Boyton. The jug has a capacity of 1½ pints (800ml) to below the start of the silver, it stands very slightly under 8 inches (20cm) to the spout. The glass is a clear as it was in 1897 and there are no chips, dings or cracks. The hinge is good, and it closes positively and is ready to use. All my photos are taken using natural light only.
