Description
Offered for sale is this vintage English made powder compact dating circa 1950 and measuring 7.8cm in diameter. This powder compact is made of gold tone metal and the lid is decorated with transfer printed design of male and female dancers in various poses. The gentlemen are dressed in black top hats and tails and the ladies in ball gowns. The compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective framed glass mirror. The frame is marked Made in England and there is no other case id. The open powder well in the base is empty of powder and the compact retains it's original sifter.

condition
This vintage powder compact is offered in good pre-used condition. There are two small ding to the lid, one pinprick size, and both are only visible in certain lighting. The transfer printed design has some crazing but no losses. It looks like someone has tried to polish the base and in so doing has damaged the lacquered finish leaving some marks. Despite all of this, the compact actually displays very well and is a rare design I've not seen before but has been priced accordingly.
