Vintage Pygmalion Globe Shaped Figural Powder Compact c.1950

On offer is this collectable vintage globe shaped powder compact manufactured by Pygmalion and dating circa 1950. The compact has a slightly flattened base so it can stand upright without support. It is made of gold tone metal with attractive machine turned pattern. The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a cream celluloid interior The powder well base is stamped Pygmalion Made in England with a patent number and Patent pending. Under the lid is a framed mirror. This attractive vintage powder compact is offered in good condition. The case has no dents or dings, the gold tone metal has no tarnish or verdigris but has dullened a little in places, the hinge is firm and the catch secure. The interior of the case is in good order and the mirror has a few dark marks to the edges but retains a good reflection. Thank you for looking.
