19th Century Victorian silver Scottish pebble heart set with 2 red half moon agate shapes and 1 green agate diamond shape, all the stones are agates and are well set. The silver to the front is decorated with wigglework whilist to the rear there is radiant decoration surrounding a cross. Just short of an inch high and slightly less across, all is in good condition, no splits, no holes, no dints. Age: difficult to say but around the 1880s. Pebble jewellery originated in Scotland and was made popular by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who fell in love with Scotland and Scottish. From the 1850s onwards they both wore, on suitable occasions, Scottish pebble jewellery and other people followed their lead.
