This French Buffet à Deux Corps from circa 1780 has all the hallmarks of a traditional piece of furniture of this age. It is crafted from solid oak using traditional construction methods and is a really good size to suit any home and is a perfect cottage size.
It features an upper cupboard with two fixed shelves, two drawers, and a lower cupboard with one fixed shelf. It is crafted in two sections which is beneficial when transporting or moving this fabulous piece.
The corners of the beautifully crafted cornice are canted and the doors are moulded with simple decorative carvings, complemented by original brass hardware throughout. It includes key guards with a key and stands on a shaped foot apron skirt plinth.
The buffet is in wonderful original condition, boasting a lustrous rich patina that attests to its well-maintained history without significant alterations or restorations, thus maintaining its authentic historical character and integrity.
