Description
St Dunstan's Church-in-the-West, in Fleet St still stands. It is of medieval origins but was rebuilt in 1830's. So this church was a new refurbishment when the engraving was made in 1832! One can see Temple Bar at the far end of the street, which was the principal ceremonial entrance to the City of London from Westminster, until it was removed in 1878 to ease traffic congestion. Presented in a wooden frame which has been painted to resemble a burr wood. (see detail in photos)
