Description

George Arnald (ARA 1763-1841) was a British Painter who specialised in landscapes, including topographical views to Illustrated country histories. He was a friend of John Varley and travelled with him in Wales. He exhibited over 170 works at the Royal Academy. He is best known for his celebrated painting of The Battle of the Nile.’ Horses and a Cow in a Hilly Landscape’, signed and dated 1805 and inscribed verso on the stretcher.

In a good state of preservation housed in a period gesso and wood frame.
