Katherine Turner Watercolour of Sweet Peas
Ref: P838 / LA70480
This is a charming unsigned watercolour of sweet peas in a vase, attributed to Katherine Turner (1863-1956). It was consigned to auction by her nephew. She was a listed artist who specialised in watercolours of flowers and exhibited mainly between 1900-1938 in various London galleries and at Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour (RWS) over 50 times. According to her nephew, she never signed her work. Quite impressionistic in style, this is a very pleasing composition - and you can almost smell the sweet peas!
This would make a nice pair with Katherine Turner's watercolour of anemones, which I am also offering for sale.
