An uncommon Staffordshire group featuring those hopelessly romantic elopers, Jessica & Lorenzo, Merchant of Venice.
One of the finer figural groups I've encountered, being well moulded and beautifully painted 'in the round'.
It survives in generally excellent order, bar one small branch loss to the farthest right of Lorenzo. There is no other significant damage, loss or restoration to the piece.
A fine example of early Victorian Staffordshire, feasibly from one of the more desirable makers.
