A bone china cream bowl and cover made in Staffordshire around 1840. Designed in the rococo revival style and decorated with gilt flowers and tendrils with hand-painted leaves in green enamel. There is further gilding to the handles and cover. The base bears the hand-written pattern number, 1068.
The bowl stands 6 1/2 inches high, including the cover, and measures 7 1/2 inches across the handles
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the Staffordshire Cream Bowl & Cover (2419 / LA161238) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1840.
In excellent, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration.
