Description

These magnificent pair of Bristol tin glazed earthenware Delft chargers were made from earthenware in Bristol. They have a tin glaze with a design of an oriental garden on the central surface. There is a decorative diamond pattern design around the rims. The underglaze designs are in blue. To the reverse of the chargers are two hanging holes so that the plates could be displayed.

Wessex House Antiques has clarified that the Pair of Bristol Tin Glazed Earthenware Delft Chargers C.1720 (FA/Boo/10313/532 / LA118770) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1720.

Condition

There is some fritting to the edges of the plates and one or two small chips,quite usual for tin glazed earthenware. For their considerable age, and the type of ware, they are really in excellent condition. Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of these fabulous pieces
