Description

Bone china. The body of the jug moulded with various game birds and animals and the handle in the form of a greyhound. The base, rim and handle highlighted with gold. Produced in Staffordshire around 1840. This piece is unmarked.


Measurements

The jug stands 6 1/2 inches high and measures 5 3/4 inches from spout to handle.

Declaration

Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the A Staffordshire 'Game' Jug, C.1840 (3819 / LA171240) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1840.

Condition

Overall, in good, original condition. There is a small chip to the inside of the rim. There is also some minor wear to the gilded decoration.
