A superb late nineteenth century porcelain cachepot.
A winged cherub plays a tambourine amongst roses in bloom.
Unusual design, well moulded and finely decorated.
Good overall condition. Nibbles to the leaf edges and to some petals, as is usually the case with applied flowers of good age.
Impressed to the underside, 'Déposé' and sporting an S shaped blue painted mark, struck through with two lines. Impressed with the number 37, and also a 20, together with various other incised marks, most likely painter marks.
Safely assumed to be a French piece.
A charming cachepot.
