A fine moulded stoneware jug from the Ridgway factory, with a boldly modelled body of bamboo overlaid with grape vines. The handle in the form of gnarled twigs. The base bears a moulded Design Registration mark confirming Ridgway as the manufacturer and the registration date as 16th February 1849.
The jug stands 9 inches high and measures 6 1/2 inches from spout to handle.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the very fine Ridgway stoneware jug (3019 / LA166749) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1849.
In excellent, original, sound condition with no wear to the moulded decoration.
