Description

Antique Regency brass inlaid faux rosewood elbow desk chair or carver.

A great rare find and very decorative.

Dates from the first half of the 19th Century and has those sought after sabre legs.

Solid, heavy and strong with no loose joints.

Good new re-upholstery in a heavy weight upholstery fabric, with a natural, light cream/oatmeal colour.

Prior & Willis Antiques has clarified that the Regency Brass Inlaid Faux Rosewood Elbow Desk Chair / Carver Chair (3839b / LA12469) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being Regency.

Condition

Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. Some historic extinct woodworm holes that we have treated for good measure. Some of the brass inlay is missing (filled). The seat would have originally been cane and strengthening has been added beneath the seat. Evidence of refinishing.
