The collaboration of Interior Designer Martina Reitbauer and Ardent Gatherer Wayne Lawless brings to you an exciting and ever evolving selection of items for your home which do not have the constraints of a particular era, no onus on any particular style or a brand agenda to respect. We are very fortunate that we can call on the assistance of skilful enthusiastic craftsmen whom we can trust to give us sound advice and deliver a first class service. Without these guys our business would be very difficult, less stimulating and more importantly less enjoyable. We choose to source across the UK believing that the British Isles offers a splendid mix of fine quality, true eccentricity, creative design and exceptional craftsmanship which very few can equal, whether it be an 18th century bank of drawers or a pair of 1970s gilded light fittings.

Description

Edging towards Arts and Crafts, this oak library desk chair survives in good historic order with the usual knocks and bumps to the frame. It would be a great shame to strip and overdo the refurb on these having arrived in pretty much original condition. So just a light wax for these good looking Chairs.

This is chair one of 4 of the same style – this one possesses the original Rexine studded seat which is uncommonly sprung, usually these types of chairs are just webbed – we have replaced the hessian base so the seat is plump rather than sagging. There is pleasing wear to all areas of the oak frame with a good historic repair to the rear of the top of the chair back – perfectly stable and not a bad job.

As mentioned, the chair is in an unmessed condition which is never easy to source.

Grab one – grab a pair, grab a threesome or grab all four- Perfect partner for a Desk, great around a table or good for Commercial use.

Billy Hunt is a partnership of a Skilled Interior Designer and Ardent Gatherer. Established in 2011, we take pleasure in working for private and commercial clients in the sourcing of single pieces though to full interior design www.malersykes.com
