Description

This set of 4 Air Ministry chairs dated 1959, manufactured by Dancer & Hearne Bros Ltd have wonderful curved bentwood arms and a great stance. Simple in design but they look all the better for it. These chairs would have been used in the offices of the Air Ministry and I have to say they work well at a desk having used one for the last week!

Condition wise – they are all strong in stature with no wobbles, sways or repairs to the frames – one of the slatted seats on the chairs has a slightly raised slat but not a real hassle as it does not move. The frames are displaying true usage marks and historic bumps giving them that superb lived in look. One of the chairs is a slightly different shade, again not a big deal in our eyes.

Never easy to find four and rarely with bentwood arms – we have lightly waxed the chairs to retain the look.

Dimensions – Overall: Height 82cm x Width 51cm x Depth 52cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Seat: Height 44cm x Depth 40.5cm
