Description

This is a late 19th to early 20th century carved wood and gilded French wing armchair which has a broad seat with a loose cushion and a high back with wing arms.

The four legs are cabriole in shape with scroll toes and a shaped and carved frame in between.

The arm rests are upholstered and have a carved serpentine shaped support, the upholstery is contemporary and is slightly worn.

Graham Smith Antiques Ltd has clarified that the carved & gilded French wing armchair (5632 / LA88751) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1900.

Condition

The chair is in good condition, though the gilding does have chips and wear from use.
