This is a French portico mantle clock with a fine marquetry inlaid case with boxwood banded inlays and gilt capitals to the twist walnut columns. A rococo bezel to the enamel dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. A decorative pendulum with steel and brass grid iron compensation. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Signed to the mechanism by the maker Japy Freres.
