A Bute shape bone china breakfast cup and saucer made at the Minton factory in Stoke on Trent around 1805. Decorated with groups of blue flowers with gilt foliage and pink tendrils. The base of the saucer bears the hand-written, mock Sevres mark with the pattern number, 76, in blue.
The cup stands 2 1/2 inches high and measures 4 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 6 inches in diameter.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the Minton Bute Shape Breakfast Cup & Saucer C.1805 (419 / LA136981) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1805.
Both cup and saucer are in excellent, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration.
