This is a superb London shape tea cup and saucer produced at the Spode factory around 1820. Decorated with a band of undulating gilt leaves, stems and puce flowers. The bases of both cup and saucer bear the hand-written name, SPODE and the pattern number, 2757, in red.
The cup stands 2 1/4 inches high and measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the Spode London Shape Tea Cup & Saucer C.1820 (1119 / LA143005) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1820.
Both pieces are in pristine, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration.
