Description

This antique pedestal desk was made by the Nottingham firm of cabinetmakers Smart & Brown Ltd. and retains its metal maker's plaque on the inside of the middle drawer. It is made from what we believe to be a mix of mahogany and oak with mahogany veneers. The desk has a green leather writing surface with a central drawer beneath. There are four graduated drawers at either side. The drawers retain their original brass art-nouveau style handles. The piece is supported on a plinth base with original hidden metal castors.
