A late Victorian antique office writing desk. Made from mahogany and featuring a leather/rexine inlaid top. There is a wide central drawer flanked by two smaller drawers across the top of the front of the desk. Each pedestal contains three graduated drawers, each fitted with an individual lock and brass swan neck handles. All drawers are traditionally dovetailed.
The desk separates into three parts: the desk top and two 'pedestals' which makes tranport and access into a house much easier. To fit back together the top is simply placed on top of the pedestal and sited onto four locating blocks in the corners of each pedestal
Standing on a plinth base the desk would originally have been fitted with castor feet but these have since been removed.
