England, c1890. Period of Victoria.
A 19th century glass gill spirit measure. A tapering neck with an engraved measurement line. The body is stamped ‘Gill’ over a crown, VR and 3. This dates the piece to between 1879 and 1901. A polished base completes the piece.
Hand-blown around the time Arthur Conan Doyle published The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on the 31st of October.
