Description

This is a most imposing pair of Old Sheffield Plate candelabrum made by T J & N Creswick.

These makers specialised in large pieces of Sheffield Plate but displayed their makers mark discreetly and their portcullis mark is stamped on the main stems beneath the detachable sconce.

The branches are numbered 1-6 with the central stems also stamped so that the branches are fitted correctly. The 8 detachable sconces are all original and the candelabrum stand firmly on attractively shaped bases. Beautiful detailed decoration overall - a fine and stunning pair of Georgian candelabrum.
