This is a fine Meiji Period cloisonné vase and cover on hardwood stand. The lid has a Kiku knop above the hexagonal body which has panels of floral mons upon a waisted circular foot all set within gilt metal borders. This is a fine example of high quality 19th century Japanese craftsmanship. The vase has a green enamelled interior.
This measures 14 cms in height 10 cms without the stand. The stand is 9 cms in diameter.
Rams Head Antiques has clarified that the Japanese cloisonne vase & cover Meiji period (LA120777) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1880.
