This is a charming antique folding oak Church organ console mirror dating from circa late 19th - early 20th Century. Typically, organists are situated at the front of the church with their back to the congregation. In order to see the service leader, the choir for conducting purposes or the congregation, the organist world use a mirror such as this. Perfect for use as a small hall mirror or an unusual shaving mirror?
Mirror frame measures 9 ½ inches x 11 ½ inches (at the widest points)
Glass mirror measures 4 ½ inches x 6 ½ inches
The arm is 17 inches long
Brunswick Antiques has clarified that the Victorian oak folding Church organ console mirror (t1118 / LA131312) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being late 19th Century.
Light scorch marks on the right upright of the mirror frame, (presumably from a candle being placed too close during use) and a couple of minor oxidation marks on the mirror. Otherwise in good condition, as shown.
