Description

This fine antique George II solid silver caster / muffineer was made by David Field and hallmarked in London 1746. (David Field was only in business for 5 years between 1743 - 1748 so silver pieces with his mark are quite scarce)

This caster has been made with a heavy gauge of silver and has a beautifully pierced lid with finial. The pull off lid fits tightly. The caster stands firmly on a raised circular base and hallmarks are clearly struck.
