Description

This lovely Georgian sterling silver mustard pot was made by John Ash and hallmarked in London 1814. The accompanying spoon is also solid silver made by Robert Rutland and also hallmarked in London a few years later in 1817.

Both are in very good condition. The mustard pot has a rich gilding to the interior and gadroon decoration to the upper rim. It stands firmly on 4 ball feet and the lid has a matching ball finial together with a thumbpiece. There is an attractive loop handle with further applied silver decoration. The spoon, mustard base and lid are all clearly hallmarked. A good gauge of silver has been used on both pieces.

A fine attractive and practical mustard pot.
