Description

This is a lovely piece of very good quality. Possibly originally a cream pail it would have a variety of purposes. Made by George Howson and hallmarked in London 1912 it has overall gilding which is in very good condition with just a little thinning in a few small areas but not very noticeable. The accompanying ladle is also gilded and clearly identically hallmarked.

There is no damage or repair to either silver or blue glass liner which is a replacement. The lid fits perfectly and the piece stands on a raised circular base. The entire piece is very ornate and has matching finials to the top of the lid and the ladle. The pierced basket and spoon are made with a heavy gauge of silver.

This is a most attractive and versatile piece of antique silver from a well regarded maker.
