Description

This lovely antique sterling silver coffee pot was made by John Samuel Hunt (Hunt & Roskell - previously Storr & Mortimer). It is clearly hallmarked for London 1856.

It is in very good condition has a double scroll handle and sits firmly on a flared circular base. The domed lid closes perfectly and the ornate spout has further applied silver decorations. There is an armorial of what appears to be a fairly angry hound but no other decorations or initials.

This silver coffee pot was made by one of the foremost makers who was silversmith to Queen Victoria. As expected it has been made with a heavy gauge of silver - altogether a coffee pot of high quality. ((It is highly polished and any marks shown in photographs are simply reflections)
