Description

This lovely Georgian sterling silver coffee pot/hot water jug was made by Isaac Cookson and hallmarked in Newcastle 1732. Cookson is regarded as the pre-eminent early Newcastle silversmith and therefore highly collectible.

The coffee pot is in very good condition and stands firmly on a raised circular base. The scrolled fruitwood handle is firmly fixed and the domed lid has an urn finial. The overall chasing is superb with further banded decoration to the spout. Hallmarks are clearly struck.

A fine George II coffee pot from this well regarded silversmith.
